About Martha:
Martha Caldwell, consultant, coach, and facilitator, draws on the power of story to make the psychological dimensions of social oppression visible. She is the co-author of Let’s Get Real: Exploring Race, Class, and Gender Identities in the Classroom (Routledge, 2017) and a regular contributor to Edweek’s Classroom Q&A with Larry Ferlazzo. Her articles on social identity development and equity education have appeared in Independent Schools Magazine, Greater Good Magazine, Youth Today, and Middle School Journal.
Martha co-founded iChange Collaborative and has worked with community leaders, educators, and business professionals in 50+ organizations. She has facilitated conversations about race, class, and gender identities with thousands of people. Martha conducts professional development workshops, coaches employee resource group leaders, and facilitates development groups for white anti-racist advocates. Martha consistently amplifies the voices of others, bringing compassion, insight, and humor to her work. When not working, she enjoys independent films, live music, and spending time with her exceptionally gifted grandsons.
